Faculty of Theology Scriptura
Training Pastors and Biblical Counselors For Faithful Ministries

Message from the Director

At the Faculty of Theology Scriptura (FTS), we are deeply convinced that faithful ministry must be rooted in Scripture. That’s why our programs emphasize Bible Study and Exegesis, Biblical Counseling, and Biblical Languages—training pastors (men) and biblical counselors (men and women) who serve with conviction and humility.
Our work is driven by a clear commitment: to train, keep, and persevere in sound biblical teaching—anchored in the words of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:58—as we navigate a world of confusion:
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (LSB)
Whether you are preparing for vocational ministry or seeking to invest in the next generation of church leaders, we invite you to join us in this mission. Your support will help raise up leaders in the French-speaking world, who will faithfully serve the Church, grounded in the Word of God.
In Christ,
Matthieu Caron
Director and Academic Dean, FTS
Our core values

Apologetics Class given by TMU professor Jesse Johnson
Our vision
We envision a growing network of church-based theological training campuses across French Canada and France, enabling students to be trained directly within their ministry context. Our goal is to equip faithful pastors and biblical counselors who are deeply rooted in Scripture and actively serving in their local church. We seek to strengthen local churches throughout the French-speaking world by making sound biblical training accessible.
Class on Deuteronomy given by Dr. Michael Grisanti, TMS Professor
Our mission
To provide a strong biblical and practical training, affirming the sufficiency and inerrancy of the Scriptures.
We focus on training pastors and biblical counselors with sound theology.
We aim to equip leaders who are deeply rooted in the Word of God, capable of expository preaching and applying biblical truth in pastoral care and biblical counseling. What is needed today is solid, biblically grounded men and women who faithfully proclaim the Gospel.
We focus on strengthening partnerships with local churches to provide robust training.
FTS campuses are located within local churches. It’s the most practical and effective place to train men for pastoral ministry and women for biblical counseling ministry. Through close collaboration with churches, our church-campus model and mentoring system ensure that the training is both academically rigorous and practically relevant. We believe that theological education should not be detached from the life of the Church—it should serve it.

Pastoral Testimonials

“As pastor, I’m so thrilled that our church has welcomed over the past three years not only students from Canada but also from Europe and even Asia. We never expected such an international reach and never could have pulled it off on our own but God could and God certainly did. The quickly increasing number of students enabled and cultivated in our church a culture of hospitality and also heightened the importance of Biblical training. I am deeply grateful to God for that!”
Alex Lopez
Assistant Director of FTS
FTS Campus Coordinator in Shawinigan (Canada)

“As the pastor of our congregation, I have witnessed with great joy how the Lord led six of our leaders to step out in faith and pursue full-time biblical studies. My heart rejoiced to see God answer so abundantly after years of prayer. At the same time, the prospect of seeing these pillars of our congregation leave for several years presented a very real challenge for our ministry. Yet, in His goodness, God has provided far beyond what we had asked. Not only did He open the way for these six students, but He also established a strong partnership with the FTS. With the opening of a campus right here in our congregation in Charlesbourg, our students are now able to receive solid academic training while continuing to have a significant impact within their local church."

How to Pray and Support
In today’s context of a growing shortage of pastors and biblical counselors, the need is urgent—and the opportunity to act is real. May we invite you to come alongside us in prayer and financial investment as we pursue the key projects outlined below? Please pray for the financial provision of FTS, and for our team to be granted the wisdom to move forward in alignment with God’s timing and will.

1- Students’ Scholarship Fund
At FTS, our vision is to provide strong financial support to students who are ready to commit to their training—especially full-time students who could be equipped for ministry within approximately three years.
To offer adequate financial assistance, we’ve established the FTS Scholarship Fund, entirely supported by generous donors.
Today, with the ever-increasing number of students, we face a new challenge: we need $300,000 CAD / 215,000$ USD to meet all scholarship requests for 2025-2026.

2- Supporting staff : Alex Lopez (Assistant director)
We believe that Alex Lopez plays a strategic role in the growth of FTS. We are convinced that he is an excellent fit for addressing long-standing needs—assisting the Director, coordinating church-based campuses, and leading student recruitment.
Currently, Alex serves two days a week.
To strengthen his impact and addressing the increasing the number of students and campuses, we hope to increase his involvement to three days per week by 2026.
To support his three-day role, we are seeking total support of 37,000$ CAD / $26,500 USD per year.
Please pray with us that God will provide the necessary funds for this step forward.

3- Supporting staff : William Klipfel (Academic Coordinator)
William Klipfel plays a key role in student success by providing academic coaching and overseeing the correction of assignments and exams. As the number of students continues to grow, we hope to expand his role from one to twoandahalf days per week to strengthen his impact and sustain this growth.
To make this possible, we are seeking $19,500 CAD / $14,430 USD per year in support.
Please pray with us that God will provide the needed resources for this important step forward.

4- Campus Development : FTS Building Project
As FTS continues to grow, we are increasingly limited by space—in classrooms, study areas, and staff offices. To better serve our students and provide optimal learning conditions, we are actively working on building plans.
The cost of our building project is a total of $500,000$ CAD / $355,000 USD.
Please pray with us that God will guide our planning and provide the financial resources needed to create a conducive and effective working environment for our students and staff.
